Sport Programmes

Programme Leader: Sylvester Nagoda.  He is assisted by XJ, Simba, Gugu, Xolani and Daniel for soccer (Football) , Luvuyo for Basketball and Mpumi with Rugby

Programme Background

The sports Programme started in 2003 wi.th only soccer but has since expanded to other sports such as basketball, netball, futsal, and gym and weightlifting. The teams consist of children and youths from Kayamandi. The gym and weightlifting Programme caters more for the adults and older youths.

Vision:  To develop an athlete who is committed to a Whole-life in that Profession.

Mission:  The implementation of Ubabalo whole life coaching in all sporting codes (soccer, netball, and basketball).

Equipping coaches in Ubabalo whole life coaching, and elite technical coaching level.

Establish coaches who live a Christ-cantered whole life.

Affirm coaches to pursue academic excellence.

To encourage excellence in any standard of sport.

Activities:  We currently have six soccer teams , all between the ages of 11-22 years, 2  Basketball teams between 20-25 years of age, 2  Netball teams between the ages of 19-25 years, and a local league of 10 teams with 12 players per team, for all of the out of school/unemployed Males from 18 years up.  The newest sport is our 2 Rugby teams : an under 15 team and a senior team.

Schedule: 

Soccer boys practice times:   16:00h-18:00h on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Basketball practice times:       17:00h-19:00 on Wednesdays.

Netball practice times:             17:00h-19:00h from Mondays to Thursdays

League match times:                11:00h-14:00h on Tuesdays and Fridays.

How to access the program:   All of our activities/ sporting codes are very flexible and accessible throughout the year, although it is the coaches’ responsibility to accept or reject applications, and with the league registration/application only takes place before each season or quarter each year.
